Mustaches for Kids DC masterminds an annual fundraiser for the Kids' Care Fund at Children's National Medical Center in Washington, D.C., by gathering a hardy group of gentlemen together to grow dashing mustaches for the cause, and use fundraising jujitsu to turn the gentle mocking of friends and family into donations! Since its founding in 2006, M4KDC has raised nearly $150,000 for the cause.
Hey growers, as your young staches are beginning to bristle, take some time to mingle with fellow growers at our http://www.facebook.com/event.php?eid=223373401066877#, 507 7th Street, NW, this Thursday, starting around 6:30 p.m.!
We'll have buttons and business cards to help your fundraising efforts, and moral support has been found to be a great way to enhance mustache growth. So RSVP on facebook, (and share the facebook invite with your friends and coworkers), or just show up!
In the meantime, great work on the fundraising, as we've crossed the $6,000 mark.
If you haven't done so yet, take a few minutes to customize your Firstgiving page, perhaps adding a photo of your 5-day old 'stache, and some words about why you're growing for the kids! And then send that page out to everyone you know!
Our FirstGiving site is now live for the 2011 growing season.
