At the culmination of our growing season, many of our 60+ fearless growers will compete in feats of mustache beauty, strength, skill, and general awesomeness, and four coveted awards will be given out: 

• Fundraisingest Stache
• Sweetest Stache 
• Best-Dressed Stache, and the ever-popular
• Creepiest Stache

Come on out to Iron Horse Tap Room (507 7th Street NW) for tonight's Mustache Checkpoint, gathering with your fellow growers and mustache supporters. 

We'll have swag, fundraising tips, and Iron Horse has many tasty beverages on offer. RSVP on facebook, or just show up!

In the meantime, keep up the great work on your sexy staches, and your excellent fundraising! We're quickly closing in on $20,000 raised!

In the meantime, great work on the fundraising, as we've crossed the $6,000 mark.  

If you haven't done so yet, take a few minutes to customize your Firstgiving page, perhaps adding a photo of your 5-day old 'stache, and some words about why you're growing for the kids!  And then send that page out to everyone you know!

This Thursday marks Shaving Day, the official beginning of the Mustaches for Kids DC 2011 Growing Season.  

You can mark this momentous occasion on your own, but it's much better if you celebrate with friends and fellow growers (a.k.a. future friends).  

We invite you to our Shaving Day get-together at Rhino Bar and Pumphouse, 3295 M Street NW, Washington, DC 20007.   We'll be upstairs, and you can show up clean shaven, or shave once you get there.  We'll have some Bic razors, but we recommend your bring your own gear.  And based on previous events, we recommend that you don't show up with a Mountain Man beard, or your skin will likely be paying for it the next day.  

Rhino -- whose bartenders will all be participating in this year's growing season, will also be offering specials on drinks ($8 pitchers, $2.75 Coronas, and $4 Captain Morgan drinks) and 25 cent wings!
